Just over ten years ago with the 2006 revision of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure (FRCP), it seemed that every eDiscovery vendor, law firm and consultant started praising the virtues of ESI data maps as tools to support FRCP compliance. At great cost and effort, many organizations created data maps, but those that didn’t were nonetheless successful in replying to discovery demands without relying on data maps. Many of the original data maps were never maintained.  Now, years later with growing concerns of privacy breach and cyberattack, there is renewed interest in data mapping and data flows. This session will explore the evolving drivers behind data mapping, what you need to know, and how to get started.
