Description:
In 2023, Forbes ranked Ameritas #100 in the United States representing all industries, and #10 out of the 16 insurance companies that made the list. Each company was analyzed on a wide range of factors, including network and application security, malware vulnerability, regularity of patches, robustness of cybersecurity personnel, performance over time, and more. Doug Garrison, VP, Information Security at Ameritas, will provide more insight about how Ameritas stays on top of cybersecurity.

Bio: Douglas is a cyber security professional with 30 years of information technology, information, risk management, and audit experience. Douglas has held senior consulting or senior executive leadership positions at AT&T, Sirius Computer Solutions, First Commerce Bancshare, Ameritas and was a member of the Board of Directors at MWI Direct.
Douglas has built cyber security programs at diverse industries including insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, retail and financial services. Douglas has served on and been a trusted advisor to boards and was a contributing author to the International Information System Security Certification Consortium courseware book as a subject matter expert in the Business Continuity Planning and Telecommunications Security domains.
Douglas holds CISSP and CCSP certifications from the International Information System Security Certification Consortium, CISA from American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and has previously held a PCI QSA from the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council and CCNA and CCSP from Cisco Systems. |
