While there are some differences between what a genealogist and a records manager will find valuable, the goal is the same: get the right information to the right people at the right time for the right cost.  This presentation focuses on how geneology and records management face the same challenges and implement the same principles. From the Generally Accepted Record Keeping Principles to the challenges associated with inventory control, genealogists have been experienceing the same issues and setbacks as records managers for as long as these two groups have existed.

Shannon’s resume includes working in records management at Kiewitt and Oppenheimer Funds.  She’s attended many ARMA Nebraska meetings over the years and her favorite was the tour of Wyuka Cemetary in Lincoln.  Shannon owns her own company now, History Walks LLC, and guides walking cemetery tours, provides genealogical and archival services and speaks publicly about her passion, genealogy!  Visit for more information.”
