    Lorenzo Ball partners with and advises senior executives in their business transformations as they mature in using technology to grow, improve performance and achieve operational efficiency. After more than 20 years working in technology, he knows what truly drives effective strategies and transformations across a spectrum of industries – startups, Fortune 500 companies and nonprofit organizations. Lorenzo is a consummate leader who has managed global high-performing teams and consistently builds positive and respectful relationships with stakeholders.

    As the data officer for Ameritas, Lorenzo is charged with enabling and maturing data and analytics practices for the life, group health, retirement plans and investment lines of business. He has been responsible for putting operational practices in place for data management, advanced analytics and artificial intelligence enablement, as well as the establishment of an enterprise governance program. As regulation increases for data practices, e.g., GDPR, NYDFS, CCPA, Lorenzo is charged to ensure compliance is established without losing the speed of opportunity.

    Unwavering in enabling communities in business, education and technology, Lorenzo has taken on various leadership opportunities. He worked as a community leader in Newark, New Jersey, establishing STEM-based projects and programs in middle school charter schools. He sponsored a number of Hack-a-Thons to enable local entrepreneurs to showcase their skills to investors, corporations and private equity. Most recently, Lorenzo joined the board of the University of Nebraska Business Analytics program. He has worked with the faculty to help develop and design curriculum, class offerings and industry projects for the degree program. In addition to working with corporations and nonprofits, Lorenzo consults with a number of startups on fundraising, operations, technology governance and business strategy.

    A New Jersey native, he currently lives in Nebraska. Lorenzo is a graduate of Morehouse College, where he received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, minoring in electrical engineering. He earned a Master of Science degree in technology management from the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School.
